Right now, Whistler and the lower mainland of British Columbia is caught in what they call an "arctic vortex." That means it's cold. Very cold.
What to do when it's cold. Skiing is actually still a really great option. The winds on top of the mountains are actually less fierce than down in the valley. As long as you have a warm coat/pants, multiple layers, goggles and a balaclava, you're all set.
There are also many wonderful things to do down here in the Village. One of my favorites: hit the Fairmont Chateau Whistler pools. Their health club, which locals can join, offers the best pools, hot tubs, and saunas in town (in my opinion). See for yourself! 👇🏼
